What collecting dues costs: cards, SEPA and fees
The maths for a box with 80 athletes: cards, SEPA direct debit and each tool's fees, with published rates.

Collecting dues costs money, and how much depends mostly on how you collect, not on the software you use. We did the maths for an example box with 80 athletes paying €55 a month (€4,400 a month), with the rates each provider publishes as of 8 November 2026.
What each way of collecting costs
| How you collect | Published rate | 80 dues of €55 a month |
|---|---|---|
| Card through Stripe (EEA cards) | 1.5% + €0.25 per payment | about €86 |
| SEPA direct debit through Stripe | €0.35 per debit | €28 |
| Resawod with no fixed fee (PayG) | 3.5% + €0.25 per payment | about €174 |
| PushPress free plan, by card | 4.99% + $0.30 per payment | about €220 plus $24 (in dollars) |
| SEPA file from your own bank | Whatever your bank charges per debit | Ask your bank |
| Cash, Bizum or transfer | Depends on your bank | Usually little or nothing, but recorded by hand |
The maths: by card, 1.5% of €55 is €0.83 plus €0.25, €1.08 per payment, about €86 a month. With Resawod PayG, 3.5% of €55 is €1.93 plus €0.25, €2.18 per payment, about €174 a month. Over a year, the gap between the dearest option in the table and direct debit is over €2,000. PushPress publishes its prices in dollars and asks those outside the United States to contact sales, so take it as a reference.
What to know about each
- SEPA direct debit. The cheapest per payment, and athletes do not have to remember to pay. You need a signed mandate from each athlete and your creditor identifier, which your bank gives you. The mandates belong to the box: if you change software, they stay valid. We go through it step by step in SEPA direct debits for your box.
- Returns. A SEPA debit can be returned. Check what your bank or provider charges per return and what happens to class access meanwhile.
- Card. Handy for one-off payments (packs, drop-ins, T-shirts). For a monthly fee it costs more than direct debit.
- The software's cut. Some management tools take a percentage of every payment that goes through them, on top of their fee. Wodmark takes no commission on your dues: you collect however you like (SEPA file for your bank, card terminal, cash, Bizum or transfer) and the app records it.
How to do your own maths
- Multiply your athletes by the average fee: that is what you collect a month.
- Apply the rate of each way you collect, in euros.
- Add the management software's fee. That total is what collecting costs you.
